AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE PRE-RELEASE BUILDING WITHIN THE MISSISSIPPI STATE PENITENTIARY AT PARCHMAN SHALL BE NAMED THE "WILLIE SIMMONS PRE-RELEASE CENTER"; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The pre-release buildings within the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman shall be named and known as the "Willie Simmons Pre-Release Center." The Department of Corrections shall have appropriate signs placed at the buildings denoting the new name.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
